The quality improvement journey for NSW Country Areas Program schools began at a state level in 2000. The CAP Consultancy Team were invited to attend a four day Langford Quality Learning Seminar where they were introduced to the philopsophy and concepts of continuous improvement.

The work from this seminar led to a Pilot Program which focused on the development of a self assessment tool for CAP.
The opportunity to further evaluation of the Program from a stakeholders perspective, was undertaken by Ian Colley of Skill Strategies.

Following the external evaluation of Program in2001, the Consultancy Team began work to support schools who wished to begin exploring the notion of continuous improvement.

During 2001-2002 & 2003 school teams have participated in the Langford Quality Learning Seminars and many schools are taking the opportunity to further their journey in network groups. A number of these schools have begun working with Quality Learning Australia's Foundation for Learning Program
